How much money should I expect to spend on a DUI case?

I am trying to gather as much information as possible in order to deal with my sons DUI case. I want to know about how much I should be saving to take care of this case including the court fees, the fine, getting his license back, representation and so forth.

It really depends on the county in which he got the DWI for starters, and what he ends up doing with the case - probation, final conviction, fight the ALR hearing, etc. Attorney fees also vary A LOT. Again, it depends on the area, whether he want a trial, whether he is fighting the ALR, whether there was a breath or blood test, how many witnesses are expected, his prior criminal history. The fees can run easily from $1,000 basic up to $7,500.
