What can he expect after his third DUI?

My son was charged with his third DUI earlier this month. What kind of charges can he be facing on his court date?

It really depends on the county he was arrested in. The statutory minimum, as far as jail time, is 120 days. The maximum sentence on a third time DUI is 1 year. How a person serves the jail time varies from county to county. Probation will almost certainly be for a period of 5 years. An 18 month DUI program and fines of close to $3000.00. Courts will deem him a habitual traffic offended and revoke his license for three years. There are some new laws that may allow him to get the license back on a restricted basis after 12 months with an Ignition Interlock Device.
