Will a breath ignition system be installed on my car?

I made a horrible decision and was arrested for a DUI earlier this week. I thought that I had waited long enough and that I would be fine driving home. I did not even feel drunk at all. This is not my first run in with the law because of a DUI. My last DUI was about 15 years ago. Will I have to install the breath ignition systems required by the new law?

If you were arrested in Sacramento, Alameda, Tulare or Los Angeles Counties you will be subject to the new pilot program under AB 91. The way the law is written, for a first offense, you will be required to have an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) on any vehicles owned or operated by you for a period of 5 months.

The prior DUI is outside the 10 year look back period. Therefore, this offense, if filed, will be treated as a first time DUI.
